Are you looking for a dark, intriguing and somewhat “inky” shade to splash across your walls, but aren’t too keen on going all black? Good news – there are a ton of other colours for you to choose from involved in Toronto Interior Decorating that will give you that same sophisticated feeling without being too stark for your tastes.
Consider the following alternatives:
Chocolate Brown
Chocolate brown has been pretty popular in home decor over the past few years, though the trend has somewhat died down over the recent past. Nevertheless, chocolate brown is still in, and can make any interior look savvy and stylish. This classic colour can easily be used for both traditional and more contemporary and modern spaces. Use it as an easy neutral that makes its own mark while toning down other vibrant colours in a space.
Navy Blue
You can’t get more true-to-ink than navy blue. This colour is not only bold, it’s also a classic, and will never go out of style. Pair it with white for a gorgeous and fresh look. These two shades work so well together that you really need not add any other colours to the space to make things ‘pop’. It’s a great colour choice for all sorts of tastes and decor genres, and is a far cry from the somber feeling that black sometimes generates.
Charcoal Gray
Gray is as close as you’ll get to black, but with a little warmth. It’s timeless and trendy at the same time, and pairs well with just about any colour you can think of. Go a little lighter in the shade to make the room feel a little more cozy and welcoming, even when hard textures and materials are present. The perfect colour combo? Warm gray + peach + yellow paired with warm metal tones. It’s a match made in heaven.
Burgundy
It’s as classy as it gets. Burgundy has this incredibly strong aura about it, mimicking rich mahogany woods and other luxurious materials that you’d only find in the homes of the wealthy. Despite the fact that its got obviously strong red undertones, it can work extremely well as a neutral to be paired with other hues. Pair it with browns, woods, golden metallics and white, and you’ll easily create a space that’s both inviting without being overwhelming.
